The University of Victoria Men’s Hockey Club is set to host #1 ranked Simon Fraser University in the club’s first ever playoff game on home ice Friday. With that being said, the Vikes are no stranger to playoff hockey. The club has attained 3 championship titles in the last 11 seasons, winning their last championship in 2012.
“The boys are focused and excited for the weekend ahead,” said Head Coach Harry Schamhart. “Playoff hockey brings speed and intensity which suits our playing style well. We have the work ethic and discipline to succeed in the playoffs.”
The puck drops at 7:30pm on Friday night at the Ian Stewart Complex. The best-of-3 series shifts to Burnaby, BC on Saturday with the puck dropping at 7:00pm. If needed, the third and series deciding game will be held at 4:30pm, at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre in Burnaby.
